Founded in 1887 by William Freer, the business initially concentrated on small plumbing works, and gradually expanded into larger scale plumbing and heating contracts from its offices based in Wellington Street, Leicester.

William’s son Harold took over in 1937, and developed the business further by opening offices in Norwich and London in order to offer a nationwide design and installation service. By the time he retired in 1964, the company had established itself as a regular contractor for a range of well known high profile clients. The founder’s grandson William then took over, and had the foresight to change direction during the downturn in the construction industry in the 1980’s, and the company returned to concentrate on the plumbing and heating small works and maintenance sector.

William Freer retired in 1992 and was succeeded by current Chairman and fourth generation, Richard Freer. The company continues to grow and adapt, and has added commercial catering equipment maintenance and air conditioning to its portfolio.

Today William Freer provides a substantial fleet of fully trained engineers providing a quality cost effective service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
